Nagarkot: The National Health Training Center (NHTC), Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP), and the WHO Country Office Nepal hosted a two-day workshop on 12-13 November to finalize a Learning Resource Package (LRP) for Community First Health Responders (CFHR) in Nepal.
According to WHO, over 30 experts from organizations such as the NHTC, National Society for Emergency and Disaster Risk Management, Nepal Red Cross Society, Nepal Police, Armed Police Force, Nepal Army, Good Neighbour Nepal, and WHO participated in the event.
The LRP aims to improve the coordination and communication skills of CFHRs with Nepal’s Emergency Care System, focusing on enhancing basic first aid skills to save lives in emergencies, particularly in rural areas. The training is designed to boost CFHRs' ability to manage trauma incidents until professional help arrives.
Once endorsed by the MoHP, WHO will roll out pilot sessions, train instructors, and expand the program nationwide. The initiative is supported by the European Commission.
