Bardibas, December 5 — A four-day Advanced Training on Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) for the Transport Sector concluded successfully on Mangsir 18, 2082 (4 December 2025), marking a key milestone in ongoing efforts to strengthen skills and institutional capacity within Asian Development Bank (ADB)-supported projects.
Held in Bardibas, the program produced 28 graduates, all of whom are engaged in transport-sector projects requiring enhanced knowledge of workplace safety, risk management and compliance standards. The training was organized under the third phase of the ADB–Nepal Administrative Staff College (NASC) agreement and implemented through NASC’s Capacity Development Resource Center (CDRC).
The initiative is part of a broader capacity-building effort aimed at equipping project officials with advanced competencies to ensure safer, more efficient infrastructure delivery across Nepal. According to organizers, strengthening OHS skills in the transport sector is critical as Nepal accelerates road, bridge and corridor development under ADB-assisted programs.
Senior representatives from ADB, including the Principal Environment Specialist/Focal Head, participated in the event alongside thematic OHS experts. From NASC, Shiva Hari Adhikari, Director of Studies and CDRC Project Director; Shailendra Prasad Bhatt, Deputy Director of Studies and Team Coordinator; and Sebika Thapa, Training and Research Officer, attended the closing ceremony and congratulated the graduates.
The successful completion of this training reflects the continuing commitment of ADB and NASC to expand technical skills, promote safer project environments, and enhance human-resource capacity across Nepal’s transport sector.
