KATHMANDU, December 12 — The Trekking Agencies’ Association of Nepal (TAAN) is offering a "Trail Inspector & Auditor Training" aimed at enhancing skills of trekking guides in trail inspection, assessment, maintanence and auditing for sustainable tourism.
This training, conducted in collaboration with the Sustainable Tourism Project run jointly by Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), will focus on making the popular trails of Nepal safe while also enhancing their standards through evaluation of environmental impact and preservation and preparation of audit reports .
Trekking guides associated with various trekking agencies of the country will receive the necessary skills and knowledge to help improve trail maintainenace and infrastructures like signage, drinking water and communication facilities and places of accomodations/rest report, and contribute to disaster and risk management initiatives.
Nepal’s tourism industry is growing rapidly, and as a result, there is an increasing demand for professionals with the expertise in Trail Inspection & Assessment. This training will help enhance the professional standards of the tourism industr and contribute to sustainable tourism development.
