Kathmandu: In a bid to boost Nepal’s tech future and empower the country’s youth, Samsung's Innovation Campus (SIC) awarded certificates to 30 students graduating from its Artificial Intelligence (AI) course at Tribhuvan University Institute of Engineering, Pulchowk Campus. The AI course, spanning around five months, focused on advanced AI concepts and practical applications. Simultaneously, SIC welcomed its third batch comprising 60 new students into its Coding and Programming program.
Launched in 2023, SIC aligns with Samsung's "Together for Tomorrow! Enabling People" vision, providing crucial, as what it calls, “future-ready skills” for the Fourth Industrial Revolution. The certificate awarding ceremony was attended by prominent figures, including Mr. In Su Kim, Head of Samsung Nepal; Prof. Kesar Jung Baral, Vice-Chancellor of Tribhuvan University; Dr. Indra Prasad Acharya, Campus Chief of Pulchowk Campus; and Dr. Shashidhar Ram Joshi, Dean at Tribhuvan University Institute of Engineering.
“At Samsung, our vision of ‘Together for Tomorrow! Enabling People’ inspires us to empower youth through innovation and education. Seeing the dedication of these students and celebrating their achievements fills us with pride. We are excited to see the impact they will create in the future,” said In Su Kim.
According to SIC, the programme’s curriculum not only delivers advanced technological training in AI, IoT, Big Data, and Coding but also emphasizes essential soft skills like problem-solving and creativity. The unique highlight of the initiative is its practical project segment, where students address real-world issues using the technologies they learn.
Dr. Shashidhar Ram Joshi, Dean of Tribhuvan University Institute of Engineering, praised the programme’s transformative impact: “The successful completion of the AI course is a testament to the immense value this programme brings to our students. Samsung’s efforts in fostering innovation among Nepal’s youth are deeply appreciated, and we look forward to continued collaboration.”
The new Coding and Programming course will focus on algorithms and data structures, aiming to build a strong innovation ecosystem in Nepal.
